Short Film - Delivery

Filed under: — The Warden @ 12:14 pm

Delivery Still Shoot

I have to say I was not a big fan of short films but after watching “Batman: New Times” and “Spiderman: The Legend of Doc” I’m hooked. The third short film “Delivery” by Till Nowak definitely has me more then interested. “Delivery” is an amazing short film of artistic talent and expression. The unique effects used to show dimension between the gray box and the land outside the building is nothing but amazing. I have to ad might as well that the music fits the scenes perfectly.

I highly recommend everyone to check out this short film. It’s well worth downloading the premium divx format (100MBs).

Batman: New Times

Filed under: — The Warden @ 10:59 pm

Hi everyone. I wanted to inform everyone about this unique short film I came across yesterday. It’s called Batman: New Times. The short film was a student project undertaken by the December 2004 Graduating Class of The DAVE School. The short film Batman: New Times is the usually story of Batman and Robin saving Gotham City. What makes this short film so cool and entertaining is the fact that all the characters are played as Lego men with voices done by Adam West as Batman, Mark Hamill as The Joker, Courtney Thorne-Smith as Catwoman, Dick Van Dyke as Commissioner Gordon and student Josh Adams as Robin. That’s pretty cool if you ask me. Turns out that this cool short film was inspired by another short film called Spiderman: The Legend of Doc. Make sure to check that cool short film out as well. You can read further about the short film by going to the Batman: New Times about film page.

Grannies on the Road

Filed under: — The Warden @ 9:37 pm

Here’s a good clean joke I received from a co-worker at work. Enjoy.

Sitting on the side of the road waiting to catch speeding drivers, a police officer sees a car puttering along at 22 mph. He thinks to himself, “This driver is as dangerous as a speeder!” So he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over.

Approaching the car, he notices that there are five elderly ladies - two in the front seat and three in the back, wide-eyed and white as ghosts. The driver, obviously confused, says to him, “Officer, I don’t understand. I was going the exact speed limit. What seems to be the problem?”

The trooper trying to contain a chuckle, explains to her that 22 was the route number, not the speed limit. A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned and thanked the officer for pointing out her error. “But before you go, Ma’am, I have to ask, is everyone in this car OK These women seem pretty shaken?” “Oh, they’ll be all right in a minute, officer. We just got off Route 127.”

The Gamer’s Quarter

The Gamer's Quarter Issue #1 - Front Cover

There is a new online magazine out called The Gamer’s Quarter. I must say this magazine is one of the biggest and best gaming material I’ve come across. It’s 92 pages of pure gaming material by gamers for gamers. Each issue is made available online at The Gamer’s Quarter web site in PDF format only. At first I wasn’t impressed that I had to download a PDF to read it but I actually prefer it this way especially if they plan on continuing to have so many pages full of awesome content. I’ve never read a magazine that went so in depth. I really enjoyed reading the article “Untold Tales of The Arcade”. I hope this online magazine continues and I look forward to seeing the next issue. I will make sure to let everyone here know when a new issue is released or you can subscribe to The Gamer’s Quarter mailing list. Also I would like to say great work to all the people invoked in this magazine.

Fossil Wrist PDA FX2008

I was doing my regular reading online and come across this cool new gadget I had to let everyone else know about it. It’s the new Fossil Wrist PDA FX2008. Yes that’s right, PDA functionality on your wrist. Now I must admight it does look kinda of clunky and don’t think you would catch me wearing one but I still have to admight it’s a cool idea. You can read a great review of this new product by going to The Register. You can also go to the official web site of the product, Fossil Inc.

The Breast Friends

The Breast of Friends

I hade a rare moment of watching Good Morning Canada on CTV that showcased “The Breast Friends“. The Breast Friends are a group of menopausal women from a small Saskatchewan community that, like most women, have been affected by breast cancer in their families, friends or colleagues. They started up to do fundraising for breast cancer by selling cook books. You can read up further about “The Breast of Friends” by going to their web site. Make sure to purchase their cook books to support this great cause. It’s nice to see people working together for the better of individuals and the community as a whole.

iPod running on Linux?

Filed under: — The Warden @ 5:58 pm

There is a group of people already working on making a Linux distribution for the iPod. Looks like an awesome alternative with some very beneficial benefits. I have no idea if this breaks your warranty or not. I can’t see it but you never know. iPod Linux has been ported from uClinux kernel. You interface with the device using podzilla. I don’t presently own an iPod but it sure would be nice to have one so I can hack with it using iPod Linux.

I wish I had more time available. I could enter the contest to win a iPod mini in the MidCOM Design Contest. Still thinking about it. Need a design concept first, just another thing to add to my list to think about. However iPod Linux only works on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation iPods.

Allowance

Hey I have some braking news. My parents finally realized what I’ve been try to tell them about why they should give me an allowance. I have been trying to tell them that if they give me an allowance. I can start saving up to buy my own clothes so they don’t have to pay for it and no longer have to deal with purchases for me themselfs directly. I don’t know when they will start giving me an allowance, but right now they are trying to decide how much to give me a month. They are thinking some where between 30 to 50 dollars a month.
