From “The Systm Crew”

We are pleased to announce the release of Systm episode #2! This time
we feature a how-to on the popular open source based PVR software,
MythTV. MythTV brings you the ease-of-use of a TiVo and the flexibility
of a ReplayTV without any associated monthly service fees. We use the
bootable Linux-based OS, KnoppMyth, to demonstrate just how easy it is
to install, configure, and ultimately enjoy!

Don’t forget to download our first Systm episode, “Building A War Spying
Box,” if you haven’t done so already. It features the first ever
handheld auto-switching war spying device (links available at systm.org).

Midgard – AIS Theme

Midgard CMS - AIS Theme

Hi everyone. I know there has been a few people waiting for me to post about this. I apologize for such a delay. I’ve been really busy at work and consulting work is crazy right now. I have one screen done and I wanted to do one more for this first theme. For now I’ll give it post and see what everyone has to say. I said I’ll make something and I will. The theme has the same look/feel as midgard-project.org, but I like it. It’s original and it works. I just wanted to achieve more with the orientation of the data presented. I have a better solution on I believe for the orientation of the data. I’ll try to do that soon. Anyways enough babble… here’s the mock up theme I’ve done.

Please send in your comments, suggestions or directions.

TWiT Episode #8

Hard on the heels of a lovely Episode 7, here’s Episode 8. I wanted to get this out before Steve Jobs WWDC speech on Monday, just in case we’re all wrong. Please excuse the sound quality, but to expedite delivery I used the plain Skype track, not our high quality tracks (that takes a lot more editing and mixing).

XML for Microsoft Office

This is quite shocking news. Microsoft is actually claiming they are going to adopt the XML file format in the up coming Microsoft Office 12 (expected in 2006) applications. Too top it off even further Microsoft is going to be publishing the XML Open Format on a royalty-free basis to the industry. I hope this is going to happen exactly as it’s stated. This is great news for everyone. Finally decent file format that produce a file 75% smaller then Office 2003. Finally interoperability customers have been asking for, for years. This is also great news for other third party developers. Support for Microsoft’s file format should be possible to be very close if not 100%.
