Student Survivor

I was surfing today and came across this online flash game called “Student Survivor”. The game is very similar to “The Sims”. The objective to the game is to keep your health, social life and academics up to keep the virtual character happy. You have to balance your money as well. One major difference in this game is you do not use your mouse to control the character. You have to use keywords to tell the virtual student what to do. Sometimes the student will not listen. Down side, there is advertising around the game. I don’t recall ever sewing any in the game directly.

How to Build a voIP Phone

Oh this has to be the coolest DIY project I’ve found yet. This one I’m definitely trying. Now I just need to locate our old cordless telephone and buy a soldering iron. In this project Christoffer Jarnaker shows how one can take a old cordless telephone and turn it into a telephone that can be used to talk voice over the Internet using for example Skype, Team Speak, Netfone, etc. and not be tied to your computer. A very cool but experimental project. Saying this I mean that the instructions are not an exact science unless you are able to get your hands on the exact same cordless telephone Christoffer used. If I end up doing this project I’ll document it and let everyone here know how I was able to achieve it or not :-) .

Stacking Coins

It’s amazing what designs one can come up with by stacking coins. We’ve all done it I’m sure at one point or another but no where near the level this guy has done coin stacking without any glue. He’s just using the weight of the coin to hold everything together. Apparently he is not the only one doing this. There is also a page on people that have done coin stacking themselfs and have sent pictures in.
