I second the first commenter. Additionally, the problem began occurring after two weeks of ownership, perhaps it is an update which causes the issue?

I have the same problem. If I select the CD drive in Explorer it thinks it is a new unformatted CD and wants to format it. But I can read it fine in a cmd window. This is a really annoying bug and I would also appreciate a solution for it.
