The IT Crowd TV show done by Channel 4 in the UK all about sysadmins.

I ran across a new TV show done by Channel 4 in the UK called The IT Crowd. The show is about 3 employees working at Reynholm Industries in the IT Department located in the basement. The 3 employees, Jen (IT Boss), Roy and Moss are scorned and mocked by their fellow co-workers as geeky losers that are doomed to never make it back into the so called normal society.

I’ve watched the first 3 episodes available so far and it’s very entertaining and humours. Granted the show is for only a certain type of audience as it’s has many geeky technical references. I highly recommend this show to those that like this type of geeky entertainment. The coolest part of all about this show is that Channel 4 is making the episodes available for free online. Unfortunately Channel 4 only keeps the latest episode online and for UK residents only. One could get around all this if one could find a UK based public proxy server service, send in a comment if you know of one please. However for now one can use web based file hosting services and BitTorrent. See the below links.

Publicity of The Kid's Bookmarks web site in the podcast show MommyCast.com.

I’m happy to say that my name and one of my web sites was mentioned on the podcast show called MommyCast episode #29, “The Week Before School”. It may seem silly to some but to me it’s nothing more exciting to hear your name and web site mentioned on a show that is broad casted world wide. I hope parents and children get to enjoy the web site I originally created for my children. The web site is called “The Kid’s Bookmarks” and can be found at http://www.adamsdesk.com/kidsbookmarks/. The web site was created for children in the age range of 2 to 8 (suggested ages). The site was designed with the following goals in mind, visual identity of web site, readability for those that can read, hand/eye mouse coordination and learning how browse the Internet in an safer environment. Since each link is open in it’s own browser window with most the the menu gone this ensures the children will get back to where they started by just closing the window. You can read further about the site and my message to parents by going to Statement to Parents and Information About Web Site page.

Please feel free to send in your comments and suggestions. I would love to read them.

If you haven’t seen it already you have to make sure to go and see the movie trailer for Ice Age 2: The Meltdown. The trailer doesn’t show much of the movie but enough to me to say that most likely this will be another great family movie with great humour. The movie is expected to appear in movie theaters some time in 2006. No specific date has been set that I’m aware of.

Hard on the heels of a lovely Episode 7, here’s Episode 8. I wanted to get this out before Steve Jobs WWDC speech on Monday, just in case we’re all wrong.
Hosts:

Leo Laporte, Patrick Norton, Kevin Rose, Robert Heron, David Prager, Roger Chang, and John C. Dvorak
