Xbox 360

Well looks like information is slowly starting to emerge on Microsoft’s next console system Xbox 360. It appears that the name is going to stay. It’s interesting to see that Microsoft has take the step that no one else has. To make a strong commitment to LAN/Internet game play, as Microsoft refers to Xbox Live. One of the long time problems in the gaming community is finding someone to interactive and play your games against. It appears now that Microsoft is potentially going to create a major gaming community with there Xbox Live service. However Nintendo also has indirectly made this commitment as well. Will see what ends up happening once all the next generation consoles and online gaming services are launched. I still say that you can have all the glitz, glamor and amazing console specifications but without having games developed for the console specifications and focus on game play you have nothing. There is a few gaming industry that see this but very few unfortunately. From Nintendo’s statements it appears that they are the one that see this but since Nintendo is tight lipped we will all have to wait and see what they end up doing. Anyways enough is enough, have a read of the below links to learn more about the up coming Xbox 360 console system.

Guess-the-Google

I ran across this innovative online game by Grant Robinson called Guess-the-Google. The game uses Google’s Image Search to generate a large gridded montage of images based on keywords it picks for you. The player’s objective is to guess the keyword used to generate the montage of images before the time runs out. To play the game all you need to have is Flash Player 7+ installed.

I’ve never been a fan of such games but like the author says it’s honestly surprisingly addictive.

Also make sure to check out the rest of Grant Robinson’s web site. He has some pretty interesting content. He has beautiful pictures of Greece. Some year I would love to be able to take my wife there for a vacation.

AOTS - Gigantic NES Controller

This has got to be the coolest gadget I’ve seen yet. On Attack of The Show (Monday, March 28th, 2005) Kevin Rose and Kevin Pereira showcased the world’s largest NES controller, so they claim :-). I would love to have the time to just say I made something like this. Yes this makes me a big geek but so what it’s sooooo cool! Check it out for yourself by viewing the online video plus extra behind the scene footage not shown on Attack of The Show.

Gaming Room

Now this is an amazing gaming room, Gibby’s Game Room. I can’t imagine having that amount of gaming equipment in one house. Can you just imagine the amount of money that all cost? It would be interesting to know the statistics of this room.

Grand Theft Auto 2

Hi everyone my big brother showed me that you can get Grand Theft Auto 2 now for Microsoft Windows for free about three or four days ago. It really is fun. You can have up to six players for network play. If any one is interested in getting it for free you have to download it from http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/. There is also the first Grand Theft Auto as well. If you want to download them you have to click on the one you want then scroll down to the bottom of the page and fill out the form. The only thing is if you put your really email address you’ll get junk mail from Rockstar Games. So what you can do is use Mailinator. It’s free and no registration necessary. You can use any email address you want.

From my point of view I say Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto 2 is the best out of them all mind you Grand Theft Auto 2 has more violence and better graphics but I would only let teens from 14-adult play GTA2 it is rated mature. Grand Theft Auto 2 also has way more vulgar language.

The differences between GTA and GTA2 is the graphics, vehicles, jobs, and there is now three gangs you have to work for and more in the other levels. If you disrespect them then they’ll go out of there way to make sure your dead. Plus the city is divided up in four areas the Yakuza, Zaibatsu, Loonies and the university. You can now save your game. However you have to finish one job and have $50,000. To save the game go to the church. There will be a sign that says Jesus saves. The only sucky thing is you have to have 50,000 every time you want to save. You are now able to jump. If you get a cop casing you, you now have two cops per cop car and if you get four you get a squad van that has four cops. On top of that you still have the three cop cars after you. When you get five you get FBI which has two FBIs agents in each car plus the three cop cars and squad vans. If you ever get six you have all that I’ve said and the Military casing after you. They have three Jeeps, about two tanks and some Jeeps that have some sort of machine gun on it. You are able to lose the cops and FBI but for the Military you’ll probably be died by the time you lose them.

The Warden and I are looking for people that would like to join us some time in a network game. If any one of you are interested let me or The warden know and if you want more info about networking GTA game you have to ask him he knows more about that then I do. Remember there can only be six players pure game so not every one will be able to join us.

The Gamer’s Quarter

The Gamer's Quarter Issue #1 - Front Cover

There is a new online magazine out called The Gamer’s Quarter. I must say this magazine is one of the biggest and best gaming material I’ve come across. It’s 92 pages of pure gaming material by gamers for gamers. Each issue is made available online at The Gamer’s Quarter web site in PDF format only. At first I wasn’t impressed that I had to download a PDF to read it but I actually prefer it this way especially if they plan on continuing to have so many pages full of awesome content. I’ve never read a magazine that went so in depth. I really enjoyed reading the article “Untold Tales of The Arcade”. I hope this online magazine continues and I look forward to seeing the next issue. I will make sure to let everyone here know when a new issue is released or you can subscribe to The Gamer’s Quarter mailing list. Also I would like to say great work to all the people invoked in this magazine.

Games

Hey every one I’m back. The Warden and I are trying to find some games we can play over the network/online like GTA, Wolfenstein, Battle Field 1942 and so on. So I am asking you the viewers to help The Warden and I find networkable games. If they are two players or more thats fine. If we do find networkable games one of us well post it a list of them on here. If any of you would like to join us that would be cool as well. So if any of you choose to help and find any network/online games please email me or post a comment. If possible we would like a game that involves guns and no magic stuff.

Game Boy Advance Successor This Year?

This is pretty hard to believe but apparently Nintendo is rumored to be releasing a Game Boy Advance successor as soon as the end of this year. The news article expects that Nintendo will be annoucing at least some information on this on March 10, 2005 at the Game Developers Conference. Nintendo has always said that the Nintendo DS will not replace the Game Boy Advance. Will see what happens. Read the news source below for further details. It’s a interesting read.

PSP Reviewed

I wish I could review the PSP myself however there is an awesome review with all the details by Trusted Reviews published at The Register. This is the best review and details I’ve found about the PSP. I’m pretty impressed with this unit. If everything actually meets what Trusted Reviews claims I think Nintendo is going to have a run for there money for portable gaming.
