The title of this news article by Jon B. Eisenberg and its contents pretty much sums it all up without any further explanation. The out come of this legal case will be interesting.

isoHunt.com - Interviewed by CBC

Filed under: — The Warden @ 8:01 am

An interview has been recently done by CBC with Gary Fung the operator of isoHunt.com about the MPAA suing him for purposely violating film copyrights. isoHunt.com is a BitTorrent search engine site which the MPAA is claiming allows individuals to steal movies and is costing the movie industry money. Just like the interview and the MPAA they are just not seeming to understand the fact that isoHunt.com is just an search engine that indexes content that is available on the Internet. isoHunt.com is no different then Google.com, Yahoo.com or MSN.com. This aggrevates me to no end that the MPAA or anyone else for that matter has the right to market inaccurate information to the general public and have the right to sue someone into the ground. Just like isoHunt, Google and others they can not nor can they control what content is available online. I hope this case and others will finally put this to rest like it should be. This is however as long as the MPAA doesn’t drive isoHunt.com, Gary Fung into breaking down to fight back due to overwhelming legal costs. It’s like a big bully on a play ground attacking an innocent child that has no where near the power to possibly fight back. Power in this case is money, political and marketing lies to the public.

My web site The Kid’s Bookmarks was mentioned in the podcast show 101 Uses for Baby Wipes episode #135 (56 minutes 44 seconds). This is great news, more exposure the better. I want kids and parents to work together to make this site grow. It’s the whole reason I created it. If you know someone that can benefit from using this web site please feel free to pass it along.

The Kid’s Bookmarks - Updates

Filed under: — The Warden @ 10:30 am

I finally did some work with my other web site, “The Kid’s Bookmarks“. The web site seems to be quite a hit for little child and with the parents too. I’ve repaired 3 broken links and the rest verified as valid links. Add 9 new games with a total of 69 games. Removed 1 game. See below for additional changes and possible new features coming to the web site. Please send in your comments or suggestions. This site was made for the kids and parents. So let’s here some feedback!

New Features Coming Soon (possibly)

  • Game descriptions for older children and parents.
  • Game categories or pages to allow for faster loading site and room for additional games.
  • Multiple Web Site Editions - This would allow for separation of games and the site to grow with the children as the get older. This would mean I would break the site up into age ranges. Not sure how this will work at this point.

New Game Additions

  • Super-Fishing
  • Simon
  • Clowns
  • Turbo Spirit
  • Table Hockey
  • Space Invaders
  • Astroys
  • Busy Burgers
  • Luigi’s Revenge Interactive
  • Easter Egg Hop

Games Removed

  • Barney Online - Seems to be something wrong with it and not much there anymore.

Sony BMG - Infects Music CDs with Rootkit

Filed under: — The Warden @ 12:04 am

For awhile now Sony BMG, has been under a bright spot light of criticism for protecting their music CDs with an XCP Rootkit. I WARN everyone stay clear of these discs. The protection is a violation of your rights and it physically changes the way your Windows operating system acts, makes the system unstable and opens the door to huge security risks. Not to mention the software goes back to Sony BMG’s site to report what content you are viewing/listening to.

For further details on the XCP Rootkit and how to remove it, use the below resources. I’ll leave this up to the experts. A complete and well explained coverage of this is in the podcast Security Now, episode #12. Listen to the show it’s great and in words anyone can understand.
