I know this sounds hard to believe but unfortunately its a reality. Printer manufactures are now invading your right to privacy by encoding each page with identifying information. This is without public knowledge or consent and worse, there is no laws to stop abuse. I do not understand this view point of having to do this to defeat crime. In reality they are treating every single individual as a criminal before a crime has even been committed. In my eyes this is breaking laws already existing. The right to privacy and the right to be “innocent until proven guilty”. Get informed and read the entire publication on this matter by the EFF.

The title of this news article by Jon B. Eisenberg and its contents pretty much sums it all up without any further explanation. The out come of this legal case will be interesting.

An interview has been recently done by CBC with Gary Fung the operator of isoHunt.com about the MPAA suing him for purposely violating film copyrights. isoHunt.com is a BitTorrent search engine site which the MPAA is claiming allows individuals to steal movies and is costing the movie industry money. Just like the interview and the MPAA they are just not seeming to understand the fact that isoHunt.com is just an search engine that indexes content that is available on the Internet. isoHunt.com is no different then Google.com, Yahoo.com or MSN.com. This aggrevates me to no end that the MPAA or anyone else for that matter has the right to market inaccurate information to the general public and have the right to sue someone into the ground. Just like isoHunt, Google and others they can not nor can they control what content is available online. I hope this case and others will finally put this to rest like it should be. This is however as long as the MPAA doesn’t drive isoHunt.com, Gary Fung into breaking down to fight back due to overwhelming legal costs. It’s like a big bully on a play ground attacking an innocent child that has no where near the power to possibly fight back. Power in this case is money, political and marketing lies to the public.
